Brellum Pilot Power Gauge LE.1 Chronometer
The Brellum Pilot Power Gauge LE.1 Chronometer is inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments. It features a chronograph with a power-reserve indicator. In addition, the watch is COSC-certified and delivers an impressive quality-price ratio.
Brellum is based in Porrentruy, a medieval city located in the heart of the Swiss Jura, a region synonymous with watchmaking. The company was founded by charismatic Sébastien Muller. Over the years, Muller has held a variety of roles within the watch industry, but it was inevitable that he would eventually sit at a bench and make his own watches. Quite simply, watchmaking and, specifically, working at the bench is in Muller’s blood. Indeed, he is the fourth generation of ‘Muller family watchmakers’, a family tradition since 1885.
The brand has enjoyed a longstanding romance with chronographs and, in particular, the tried and trusted Valjoux 7750. However, not willing to become typecast, Brellum has also produced watches without a stopwatch function, eg the Wyvern ‘Petite Seconde’ Chronometer and the Wyvern 5 Days Chronometer.
At the heart of Brellum’s paradigm is an obsession with precision. Indeed, all its models are COSC certified chronometers. Brellum watches are sold online and deliver an impressive quality-price ratio.
Muller has just unveiled a new model, the COSC-certified Brellum Pilot Power Gauge LE.1 Chronometer. It pairs a chronograph with a highly legible power-reserve indicator and is offered in a choice of two case options, steel with black DLC coating and naked stainless steel. Both models feature some impressive finishing, especially considering the brand’s modest pricing.
The brand’s press release (May 2020)
Inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments with optimal readability, thanks to their contrasting and luminescent displays, Brellum Pilot Power Gauge LE.1 immerses you in the world of aviator’s watches. The domed black dial with recessed counters offers perfect legibility, while the hands, dressed in Superluminova (Old Radium style), accurately indicate the hours, minutes and seconds.
The chronograph function allows you to measure short times up to 12 hours and the movement, officially chronometer-certified by the COSC, constantly indicates its power reserve at 3H.
The BR-750-PR Chronometer movement (Valjoux base), which can be admired through its exhibition case back, is entirely decorated with Perlage, Geneva stripes and blue screws. The specific oscillating weight, numbered from 1 to 33, treated in mat black, is inspired by the Turn coordinator, an instrument that allows the pilot to control his plane.
Limited to 33 units worldwide, the new Brellum Pilot LE.1 is available on black DLC case and Bracelet, or Stainless steel case and bracelet. Both are delivered with an additional Nebur Tec Strap and black DLC deployment buckle.
