Patek Philippe Watch Reviews

In 1839, Antoine Norbert de Patek and François Czapek formed a company named Patek, Czapek & Cie. Ultimately, the two gentlemen, both Polish citizens, went their own way.

Subsequently, Antoine Norbert de Patek met Jean Adrien Philippe, the inventor of the ‘keyless works’, a mechanism for winding and setting a watch by means of the crown. In 1851, Patek’s firm was renamed Patek, Philippe & Cie. And the two names have remained entwined ever since.

Patek Philippe is widely known for its Aquanaut, Calatrava and Nautilus models. Moreover, its high-complication watches have become much sought-after on the auction scene, often attracting eye-watering sums of money.

Based in Geneva, Patek Philippe craft remarkable examples of Haute Horlogerie and the firm is often referred to as a member of ‘The Holy Trinity’, together with Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin.
